Film Photos of Yesteryear

Hey breaux,
During the fall of 2015, I was lucky enough to spend a semester studying in Vienna. On this European whirlwind which took me to Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Norway, and France (twice), I brought with me my Nikon FM film camera. At the time, I was just discovering and experimenting with my new hobby of photography and upon rediscovering some of these photos ten years later, I found most of them to be mediocre. At best.
There were, however, a few salvageable, perhaps even noteworthy photos from the four months I spent abroad and I have decided to share those with you here.
I’d like to think that, similar to how I’ve grown as a writer over these past ten years, I’ve also grown as a photographer. Although I no longer have a film camera — I sold the Nikon FM in grad school when shooting on film became prohibitively expensive — I think I can take better, more interesting photos than I could when I was starting out. However, it’s far less embarrassing to look at a handful of old photos than to read any of my old writing, hence why I’m sharing this with you but not that novel I scrapped a couple years ago.
Without further ado, please enjoy some old film photos from Vienna, Austria and Nice, France.
